The Megan Fox of the North

Remember Veronika London? The girl who was once called “The Megan Fox of the North“? You know, the one who sent us sexxy pics of her including some featuring her sporting a breaast enhancement (aka nippple ring)? Now you remember… Well, Veronika (or her peeps, whatever) sent us some more sexy pics along with some news that all this effort has not gone for naught as she has landed herself an acting gig on Showtime for some series called Body Language and in a feature film called Black Eve. Most importantly tough is the fact,

Market Review – Fundamental Perspective

The USD gained towards a four-year peak versus the EUR on speculation U.S. policy makers may reiterate that an economic recovery is gaining pace. The EUR weakened as a survey showed that economists expect that the European Central Bank, which meets tomorrow, will leave its key interest rate unchanged at a record low until next year. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke testifies before a House Budget Committee today after saying at June 7th that the central bank will raise rates before the economy returns to full employment. Futures trading on the CME Group exchange showed a 32 percent chance that the Fed will raise its target rate for overnight bank lending by at least a quarter-percentage point by its December meeting, down from 50 percent a month ago. The EUR/USD fell to 1.1949, which is a level close to its four-year low at 1.1876 from June 7th.

Global investors have little confidence in Europe’s efforts to contain its debt crisis. Only 23 percent say that they expect the region’s almost $1 trillion rescue package to both keep the European monetary union together and prevent a debt default by a government. The EUR/CAD fell for a third day and reached its lowest level in almost 10 years. The pair fell to a low of 1.2515, which is the lowest level since October 2000.

The GBP fell against most of its major currencies after Fitch Rating said yesterday that U.K.’s fiscal challenge is “formidable.” The rating agency suggested that British Prime Minister David Cameron will need to speed up budget-deficit cuts to protect the U.K.’s top credit rating. Treasury estimates show that government debt-interest costs reached 70 billion pounds in five years, up from 31 billion pounds in the last fiscal year. The GBP/USD fell for a second day after it reached a level at 1.4430 while it fell to a daily low around 131.42.

Help is on the way for some 3 million U.S. women of reproductive age who suffer from heavy menstrual bleeding, a condition also known as menorrhagia. Research into the treatment of this medical condition has led to the recent approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of a new drug as the first non-hormonal therapy for menorrhagia.

The number of American women who experience menorrhagia is based on estimates from annual reports to the FDA, and according to the agency, many of these women develop the condition with no apparent cause. Menorrhagia is an abnormally heavy and prolonged menstrual period that occurs at regular intervals. Possible causes include abnormal blood clotting, disruption of normal hormonal regulation of periods, and disorders of the endometrial lining of the uterus.

Megan Fox Rolling Stone October 2009 Photos

Megan Fox is talking again, so prepare yourselves for a new bunch of ridiculous stuff.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, October 2009 issue, the Jennifer's Body star talks about her "powerful, confident vagina" and why she almost stabbed her boyfriend Brian Austin Green. Check out some good soundbites:

On the secret of her bewitching power: "A powerful, confident vagina. Men are scared of vaginas," she says, adding that a woman is most powerful when she is "completely in charge of her sexuality."
On her wild temper: "I've had to say to Brian, 'You have to go and stop talking to me, because I'm going to kill you. I'm going to stab you with something. Please leave. I'd never own a gun for that reason. I wouldn't shoot to kill. But I would shoot him in the leg, for sure."

On cutting herself:
"Yeah, but I don't want to elaborate. I would never call myself a cutter. Girls go through different phases when they're growing up, when they're miserable and do different things, whether it's an eating disorder or they dabble in cutting."

On her girl-on-girl scene in 'Jennifer's Body' being the most anticipated scene of the year: "Clearly I can't argue that it's not gratuitous, because it is," she admits.

On separating her public persona with her personal life: "I don't really want to share myself with the public," she says. "I want to deflect attention from my reality."

Do you have a problem with varicose veins? Oh dear! That could be very uncomfortable and even painful at times. While doctors usually advocate surgery for a cure, here are a few simple ways by which you can make life easier for yourself.

  1. Exercise regularly. It helps strengthen your legs and your veins.

  2. Reduce your weight. It will help you more than you can imagine. Being overweight hurts you in every way possible.

  3. Wear support stockings. Elastic ones are the best.

  4. Don't wear tight underclothes. It prevents normal circulation of blood.

Constipation could lead to varicose veins over the years. So maintain a high fibre diet and eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. The necessity of a well balanced diet can never be overstressed. Reduce your salt intake. This helps prevent swelling in your legs.

Don't sit still for long hours. Make it a point to get up and take a short walk once every half hour or so. This is all the more important if you have a job where you sit at a desk all day long.

If you are flying long distance, make frequent visits to the toilet. Wriggle and rotate your foot often to prevent blood from clotting. If you are on a train, take frequent walks on the aisle. If you are travelling by car, you should stop the car and stretch your legs every hour or so. Take a ten-minute walk before you get back into the car.

Do some stretching exercises everyday. Some of these exercises can even be done in your work place.

Avoid standing for a long time. If it can't be avoided, try shifting your weight from one leg to another.

Beautiful Megan Fox sparking in Hollywood film festival

ORLANDO, Florida - Doctors say that a new type of heart pump greatly improves survival of people with severe heart failure. It could become the first one of these devices to be widely used as a permanent treatment.

The device is implanted next to a patient's own heart to help it pump. In a study, the new device increased by four times the number of patients who survived at least two years, compared to an older pump that is used now just for short periods to keep people alive until a heart transplant can be done.

The big issue is cost. The pump costs $80,000, plus $45,000 for the surgery and hospital stay to implant it.

"It will allow older people who are not heart transplant patients to stay alive but at a higher cost. It's all about who's going to pay," said Cleveland Clinic heart chief Dr. Steven Nissen, who had no role in the research.

The device — called the HeartMate II and made by Thoratec Corp. of Pleasanton, Calif. — is the first of a new generation of smaller pumps that push blood continuously rather than simulating a heartbeat as older pumps do. A wire from the patient's abdomen connects the device to a small computer and batteries the patient wears in a belt pack.

The pump was approved last year for use in people waiting for a transplant. The new company-funded study tested it in very sick heart failure patients not eligible for a transplant.

It enrolled 200 people as young as 26 and as old as 81 at several sites in the United States. Two-thirds got the new device; the rest received an older HeartMate pump. After two years, 46 percent of those on the new pump and 11 percent of those on the old one were alive without having suffered a stroke or needing an operation to fix or replace the device.

Results were presented Tuesday at an American Heart Association conference and published by the New England Journal of Medicine.

Forex Update :-
USD/JPY reached the 50% retracement of this week fall around 86.95, and consolidates just under it. If pair does not manage to regain before the end of the day at least the 87.60 level, more downside pressure will be seen, unless Japan authorities decided to stop talking and start to act (something they usually do on weekends, triggering strange movements Sunday opening).”

Greenback’s recovery failed to break above 87.00. USD/JPY rose to 87.01, posting a fresh intra-day high and currently trades at 86.66/70, 0.09% above today’s opening price. The pair recovered after falling to 84.79, reaching a new 15-year low.

The Euro fell against the Dollar on Friday but finished far from the lows. EUR/USD bottomed at 1.4826, reaching the lowest price since of the week. But as stocks started to recover in Europe the pair begun to rise.

EUR/USD soared more than a hundred pips during the American session and jumped from 1.4870 to 1.4988. The pair then pulled back to 1.4955.

The pair ended the week with gains but far from the highs. The Euro rose on Wednesday to the highest level in 13 months but then pulled back sharply.
